About the Board

Welcome to the Veterinary Practice Board of Western Australia website. The Veterinary Practice Board is an independent statutory authority responsible for administering the Veterinary Practice Act 2021 in Western Australia. The Board has wide ranging powers and is responsible for ensuring that professional standards for the practice of veterinary medicine in Western Australia are maintained.

The Board maintains the registers of Veterinarians, Specialist Veterinarians, Veterinary Nurses, Authorised Persons and Veterinary Premises and investigates allegations of unprofessional conduct and professional misconduct.

The Veterinary Practice Act 2022 commenced on 18 June 2022. See 'Latest News' for more information.
