Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for all staff of veterinary premises

The WA Governmentmandatory vaccination policy for WA workforces is now in place.

Veterinary clinics (and hospitals) have been listed under group 2,  industries and occupations, deemed critical to the ongoing delivery of critical services to the community.

As such all staff of veterinary clinics (and hospitals), including volunteers and work experience students, are required to have a first COVID-19 vaccination by 31 December 2021 and be fully vaccinated by 31 January 2022.

Unvaccinated staff will not be able to access their workplace after the date specified in the policy. Employers failing to comply without a reasonable excuse are liable to a fine of $20,000.
